Keep it Weird, Portland!

August 5-9, 2021   After a tearful departure from Salt Lake City, we puddle jumped our way to the Oregon coast.  Along the way, we spent a couple of nights at Lake Walcott State Park (not our favorite state park; however, it was in the right place at the right time and served the purpose of breaking up the drive).  Our next stop was at Boise, and then to Boardman Marina and RV Park.  This campground was located along the banks of the Columbia River.  There was a lovely river walk along the Columbia River offering beautiful views.  The trail led into town where we found Burnt Field Brewing!!  The brewery in located  in what once  had been a home. The lawn was filled with picnic tables. creating an  environment that   reminded me of going to high school graduation parties!  It certainly was a setting that made you comfortable and feel welcome and at home!   Finally, for our final puddle jum...

Meeting Zoe! – Abundant Blessings   July 10 – August 1, 2021   As all good things do, our family reunion time came to an end and Maggie and Lauren’s families headed to the airport.  Our next planned gathering is in December for a second attempt at a Disney Christmas.  This time, California style! Together Again!

Together Again!     June 30 – July 10, 2021   Wow!  I’ve fallen terribly behind in keeping this journal.  Things suddenly got a little crazy and I got a bit distracted!   Crazy #1 was the heat wave that hit Idaho.  The heat hit while we were in Mountain Home; however, we were in the mountains and the higher elevation offered some natural relief.  Our next reservation was for Bruneau Dunes State Park, which we had really been looking forward to.  The problem was it is located in the desert and only offers 30 amp service.  30 amps are more than enough normally, but with the extreme heat, we really wanted either some shade or 50 amps to help with air  conditioning .  Changing campgrounds got a bit complicated due to the fact that our dates centered around a national holiday!  The Fourth  of July is a big time for families to gather and campgrounds are a common  place wher...
